Naijaid UK and Health Aid Nigeria Empower ATBU Students with Crucial First Aid Skills

Bauchi, Nigeria , On May 19, 2025, a vital First Aid Training program for 70 students at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi was successfully conducted, thanks to the generous and full funding from Naijaid UK and Health Aid Nigeria.

This collaborative effort underscores the charities’ unwavering commitment to enhancing community safety and empowering young Nigerians with life-saving capabilities.

The comprehensive training was organized by Project Alert’s winning team, who secured over N2.5 million in a “Train the Trainer” First Aid Course competition held in Lagos last October. This significant win enabled Project Alert to bring this critical initiative to ATBU.

The program successfully equipped participants with the confidence and skills necessary to respond effectively in emergency situations. Students engaged in a robust curriculum, designed to foster both knowledge and practical competence in essential life support techniques.

The training included:
1) Informative Training Sessions: Covering essential life support techniques.
2) Hands-on Practical Sessions: Crucial for building competence and confidence through simulated scenarios.
3) Complimentary First Aid Kits: Each participant received a kit to ensure ongoing preparedness.
4) Valuable Networking Opportunities: Facilitating connections among participants and trainers, fostering a community of preparedness.

The impactful session took place at No. 5 Kaduna Road off Ahmadu Bello Way, P.O., Box 832, Bauchi.
